Restaurante Cazorla
About This Spot
Stepping into Restaurante Cazorla is like slipping into a well-loved neighborhood spot where time slows just enough to savor the moment. Nestled in the heart of Madrid’s Retiro district, the modest façade gives way to an inviting warmth inside—where familiar chatter blends with the clinking of glasses and the comforting aroma of home-cooked flavors.
The pace here is unhurried, with a rhythm that feels both relaxed and alive. It’s the kind of place where locals gather after work and travelers find a genuine welcome, bridging the gap between new friendships and familiar comforts. The space holds a quiet charm, enhanced by attentive service that makes you feel less like a customer and more like a welcome guest sharing in everyday joys.
The menu echoes this spirit of authentic simplicity. Plates arrive thoughtfully portioned, offering moments of pleasure in each bite—from the rich, savory notes of jamón Ibérico to the satisfying crunch of golden croquetas. The air often carries the scent of garlic shrimp, while a pot of hot café con leche offers a gentle finish. Here, food is more than sustenance; it’s about the subtle connections sparked over shared bread or a slice of perfectly cooked paella, dishes that invite quiet appreciation rather than hurry.
What stands out is how the atmosphere balances approachability with a sense of home. It’s a place where a quick meal can feel like a return visit, and each interaction carries a warmth that lingers long after you’ve left. Whether you find yourself soaking up the bar’s easygoing buzz or settling in a corner table, Restaurante Cazorla offers a glimpse into Madrid’s slower, softer side—where hospitality and local flavor come together in unpretentious harmony.

Delicious food, good portion size, great service. We got a free starter and some bread. The atmosphere was homey. We would come back here!

I would have given 5 stars, but there was a small issue with my order. I ordered a meat paella, but I was served a seafood paella instead. I didn’t want to be wasteful, so I went ahead and ate it. The price was €30. It wasn’t listed on the menu, but the server did inform me of the price beforehand, which I appreciated. The server at the counter was amazing—she even offered a small bite of jamón with bread and olives, which was a very nice touch. Thank you to her for the great service. The food itself was good; it’s just a shame that I don’t really enjoy seafood, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Overall, I’d say 3.5 stars, but since Google doesn’t allow halves, I’m giving 4 stars.

Took 1 minute and felt right at home because the bar staff welcomed me so warmly. Service was quick and the food came out piping hot and perfectly cooked. I had the Gambas con ajillo (garlic shrimp) and the staff even handed out a basket of bread to mop up all the extra juice. That and a beer on tap solidified this place as 5 star.

Beautiful friendly atmosphere. Best paella I had in Madrid!

This was near our hotel and we needed a quick place to eat. It was actually one of our favorite meals in Madrid. Simple and fresh. We felt a little awkward at first as this seems to be a bar that locals hang out and and we were tourists with a child, but the staff was very nice. Glad we tried it.

Just had a great night here. We wanted something simple, easy and close to our hotel and this neighbourhood bar met all the goals. We shared a great salad (Ensalada Corzala) and a very well cooked steak (medium rare entrecot with fries}, four glasses of Rioja, a shared dessert and coffees for ~50 Euros. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a chat with some of the locals. After a week on the road it was great to be in a place with no fuss, good food and a warm atmosphere. Note: this is literally a little neighbourhood bar and restaurant, don't expect fancy but it was very good. One of the most enjoyable nights we had in Madrid!

Happened upon Cazorla in our way to Parque del Retiro. Amazing lunch and Service. Sat downstairs and service was fast and impecable. Seafood was very fresh! Had the: boquerones fritos, queso, croquetas, vino, todo muy bueno! Needs more reviews!
